Women Receive Personalized Care with High Desert Midwifery
The journey through pregnancy, birth and postpartum, bringing your fresh new baby earth side is a deeply spiritual one. A true spiritual awakening! There is nothing else quite like it.
- Women choosing to birth at home seek full autonomy and decision making throughout their pregnancy and birth. Women are the primary voice in their care.
- We believe every women should feel empowered and cared for respectfully, including supporting the family in their desires and honoring traditions.
- Women who choose to birth at home love the freedom and comfort of their home environment. Creating a relaxing atmosphere, surrounded by the support people of their choice. Labouring mothers are encouraged to drink and eat throughout.
- We believe care should be individualized to each woman's health needs and personal desires.
- We believe in Home Birth-Women enjoy the luxury of being in their own bed and space immediately after the birth, bonding as a family and enjoying a special meal made right in their kitchen.
- We believe mothers, babies and fathers should have uninterrupted bonding time. Skin to skin is crucial to creating an everlasting bond.
- We believe and support in delayed cord clamping.
- We support and encourage mothers to catch their own baby, if desired.
- Newborn exams are typically performed an hour or so after birth, usually once the baby has latched and fed.
- We believe in true informed consent; sharing up-to-date information and resources regarding testing and options relevant to pregnancy, birth and your newborn.
- Siblings and family members are welcome to your visits.
- Many families choose to have their child(ren) present at the birth, normalizing the birth process. We highly recommend having a special someone to be there for the sibling to help with their needs and entertainment.
- We provide care of the whole woman in the context of her life; emotionally, spiritually and physically.
